Beautiful small town restaurant offers delicious large city refinement. The ambience is pleasant and family like the restaurant feels like a large house with a plot decoration. We had a delicious lunch with nuts which were tender in a delicious sauce. Lunch had a fried crispy chicken salad, delicious hamburgers and cattle pliers. The chicken pieces were cooked and very crispy. Dessert had fermented blue berries with a delicious custard. The coconut and pineapple cake was well made, even a bit crisp. A delicious meal. Our guests were enchanted with the chicken salad, which was quite delicious, like the grilled sweet corn, which fits very well to the dish. Our waiter was a pilot, a patient and a professional. Per tip our food took a while to prepare.
We had a party with six and reservations before the time. Some had ordered the cooking menu Walfangr, beef tenderloin and chocolate mousse as well as the pairing of wines. We also had the horse meat-catchers, salmon, the other fish and lamb ducks. The whale was surprisingly good. Everything was very delicious. The staff was excellent.
Great vegan options. Nice ambience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Omnivore had the salmon court and was enthusiastic about it. I had the vegetable growers and they suggested. Also the vegan dessert coconut cake with grilled pineapple and sorbet. It was amazing!
Came here with my family and was thrilled with eating and hospitality. the personal was brilliant and answered everyone asking. it was a very welcoming and conformer place and eating was even better. would recommend!
We really wanted a horse meat during our stay on the island and we found this place during the selfoss. eating is worth a Michelin star, we had the horse steak and the salmon. we also tried the garnelentempura. everything was delicious and the portions were quite large. the young at the entrance were amazing. make sure they book well in advance!

A cute spot. The menu is limited and the food was good and inventive. I had the cod (which was slightly over salty but delicious) and while the chutney was an odd pairing I kept them apart and it was fine. My husband had the burger and when he went to tell them how he wanted it done was told we don 't do that in Iceland. The chef makes it how he thinks it should be. This worked out for my husband because he likes a rare burger but if I had ordered that I would not have been able to eat it. Most of the reviews say how nice the staff is. While they were not unfriendly, we were the only people in the restaurant for quite a bit of time when we first arrived and there was no attempt to speak with us or see how things were going. Not sure how they can handle it when they are full. One final note and this did not effect my rating but I feel compelled to share it the music is atrocious. I don 't mind different styles of music but this was the worst of a rat packy mix anyone could come up with. Overall, I would recommend.
They just started the Christmas menu. We enjoyed the reindeer and started with artic char, both were terrific. Gingerbread and ice cream for dessert.
Very quaint place Atmosphere is awesome, service is very good, prices are reasonable. The menu has items I have never tried including whale and horse, I tried them both and they were both very good!! I would recommend getting there early or reservations! All in all I would for sure go back!
We stumbled upon this restaurant 4 years and it was so good we dined twice there that trip. Upon returning to Iceland we planned our itinerary around returning here again as the food was that exceptional. Every single dish we tried was phenomenal. The lobster soup and beef tenderloin are the best we have ever had. Highly recommend.
The Lobster soup was so spicy that I could not finish it. Tasted nothing like a lobstersoup. The portion was so small and only two very small slizes of baguett did come with it. When my husband asked for extra bread that was not possible witout paing extra for a slize of bread! What a ripp off. I ordered a glass of white wine with the soup but could not finish the glass as the strong spice from the soup made the wine taste funny. Such a shame as this restaurant is so cozy, but we will not come back here.

Absolutely charming ambience with delicious food. Our party of 8 raved about the monkfish, beef tenderloin, salmon and zucchini. The whale and horse meat appetizers were an adventurous way to begin the evening. This restaurant does not get enough credit on the travel blogs. Helt fantastisk! Dette er et av de aller beste restaurantbesøkene jeg har vært på. Maten var nydelig, lokalet var fantastisk og de hadde en flott service. Denne restauranten har en av de aller beste dessertene jeg noen gang har smakt. Jeg bestillte en karamellmousse og den var alldeles nydelig. Restauranten er plassert på et gammelt hotell hvor mange av bordene er plassert på det som før var soverom. Vi fikk sitte i fred og ro på et koselig gammeldags rom mens vi nøt maten vår. Anbefaler på det sterkeste! Absolutely amazing! This is one of the best restaurant I've ever been to. The food was lovely, the venue was fantastic and they had great service. This restaurant has one of the best desserts I have ever tasted. I ordered a caramel mousse and it was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is located in an old hotel where many of the tables are located in what used to be bedrooms. We were able to sit in peace and quiet in a cozy old-fashioned room while we enjoyed our food. I strongly recomend this place! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The Best Beef Carpaccio I have ever tasted in my life, and one of the best dishes I have ever had.
Very beautiful and charming. Good food and good service. The place was fully booked with a romantic atmosphere in the air. I recommend this charming restaurant, just across the bridge when you enter downtown Selfoss.
