The Ferry Inn received mixed reviews from customers. Some expressed disappointment with poor service and subpar meals, while others praised the friendly staff and enjoyable atmosphere. The burger and homemade chips were highlighted as outstanding, but the steak and ale pie fell short for one reviewer. Overall, the pub offers a dog-friendly environment and excellent drink options with a cozy setting by the river. What matandsu dislikes about Ferry Inn:
Turned up for lunch on a Saturday, having seen the pub from the road. Its a really genuine old English pub, rough plaster and pictures of ships and all that, and when we visited there were even candles on the table making the place even cosier. Must be great when the log burner is lit. Of course if you like an immaculately presented chain pub with matching everything you might not appreciate this place.I went for thei... View all feedback.

Called in for a pint or two. Friendly efficient service and good real ale. Heard the food was very good but they haven’t been serving it recently.

Arrived for drinks one Saturday afternoon. We are not from this area. I assume it was the landlord that was serving. The pub was busy but not packed. Two ladies who arrived at the same time as me got served first, I didn’t mind. Next a gent who clearly arrived after me got served, again I put up with this. Then a local walked in. The landlord called him by his name, started pulling his pint before his toes had touched the bar. At this point we left and took our custom elsewhere. Quite simply unacceptable and the worst welcome that we have ever had.

Have to say tonight 's meal at the Ferry was the best we have had locally for some time. The Crayfish starter was superb, the Sea Bass main beautifully cooked with fantastic crispy skin and the Strawberry Stack dessert was to die for.And that was just mine!My wife 's Lamb Cutlets were superb Succulent, beautiful local lamb that was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. As to our friends Lemon Posset The presentation was inspired and it was matched by the gorgeous creamy, lemony taste. All in all a fantastic meal that would grace the table in any so called Gastro Pub .

Can't fault any aspect. Three courses each a credit to the chef and the rest of the staff. Well presented and fresh and tasty. Good pub fine dining. Great.
