We had a delicious lunch of local bread, olives, cheese to start, followed by splitting a large platter of boar with chestnuts and shiitake mushrooms in a brown... read more We had a delicious lunch of local bread, olives, cheese to start, followed by splitting a large platter of boar with chestnuts and shiitake mushrooms in a brown sauce, accompanied by two very generous glasses of red wine for less than 30 euro. The daughter served us, and with her English we were able to navigate the meal and feel very much at home. I wish we had an appetite for dessert as they were so tempting!

We found our way to this pretty, rustic restaurant in pouring rain, and had to sit outside because the dining room was already full. But the roof over the outside dining area provided us with good shelter and we had a peaceful view over the bridge and the river. The staff were endlessly charming and helpful, and lunch was simple but delicious. Even the restaurant’s pets felt relaxed here!

The “Secretos de Porco Preto” are a must to try, very delicious! It’s a little bit out of the way, but a very good choice to come for lunch or dinner.
