Had excellent lunch in this delightful restaurant. Our waitress was very helpful translating the menu and spoke good English. Good selection of local mountain food...we had wild boar and goat...delicious. Food came quickly and house vino tinto very good...pricing good too. Also attached is shop with all local products
This keeps being the finest restaurant in Seia but... The staff is 100% renewed which is a small detail I do not completely appreciate; the menu card keeps showing the same dishes, yet very good ones. One good thing: I have talked to some friends that went there as a group (aprox. 25 people) and they were amazed for the food was very good and the price low (ca. 10 €/person). Phone: 238082304
It is a new restaurant and shop in Seia. They have all the assets to continue and become a top restaurant. The food is good, the time waiting is a little long, the service is nice. The restaurant is owned by the Associação das Quintas do Dão and this is why they have a shop great shop! You can find there, and buy to take with you, all the very best wines of the Dão region, which is now one of the top regions of wine in the country. And the guy who attend you at the table is ready to help you with the wines, for drinking and for take away. So you risk to spend a little more than you have previewed but will take home some wine bottles that will make you remember your Portuguese stay
The special plate from Taberna da Fonte with ham and cow meat in top of a slice of bread it's amazing and vary tasty, the recommended red wine it's also very good and the bill in the end it's not surprising, good price for the quality. Also they have a shop with special products from Seia, the Ham it's super delicious. Recommend this place to eat a good meal and buy some local products.
Was at the restaurant at 20h last night. First, there is no one to take care of us, then, visited the washroom, stunningly to learnt that is no water in the toilet and no toilet paper available... and without saying the washroom was left unattended for cleaning for hours... Back to the table, still no one want to come take the order... waited for another 20mins, until someone (the only one) that can take order ! (a huge restaurant with many tables), and then, made us wait for 1 full hour before our extremely blended salty grill turkey steak came... !! Never got to understand why for a plain grill turkey steak will take more than a hour to prep.... one thing they are quick thou, its when you ask for check, they come in a split second !
