We have been several times with the family in the restaurant and never been disappointed They offer good starters (I can recommend the deer carpaccio) and a good selection of main dishes and Pizza. I recommend to book a table in advance for those who do not stay in the hotel. View all feedback.
Staying at the hotel (which was nice! and, since just one night quite late, decided to eat here. The menu was quite standard for a local offer at an average price so that was good for us. The food itself was beautiful.... good portions, tasty and came with some nice bread... but we were really abandoned by the rude service. I had decided to try the “recommended” local speciality on the menu Pizzocherri. Uncertain how to say it, I made a point on pointing to the menu when I gave it a jump. The older waiter immediately and incredibly rudely corrected my attempt on the lingo and told me that it was “Paccheri”, he did not look at where I showed, but was so powerful that I did not question him. And it's her restaurant recommendation that he needs to know. Obviously, when my food arrived, it was totally the wrong one! I just asked him to tell me that I asked... I asked him to bring me the menu and get back to what I wanted. Again, very rude, he insisted that I had asked for Paccheri, I reminded him that it was actually he who had said that despite me point to a completely different part of the menu and say a word that (as it turned out, was quite as it was actually said. He took it very irresistible to replace, and when he came back with the Pizzocherri again began that it is Pizzocherri and I would have asked not Paccheri if that was what I wanted. I had fled energy to argue with him again on this point! He made us feel incredibly uncomfortable and really a down on what would have been a nice meal and stay.
The restaurant is about a 10-minute walk from the Furtschellas Gondel (or a few minutes on the bus). The food and service were excellent. It is a much better option than the restaurant on Furtschellas, but must be taken into account for the trouble of descent and then again in the gondola.
Short stay in January. The location is close from bus stop in Sils Maria. 5 minutes from Furtschellas cable station. Vogl supermarket within walkable distance. The room is with modern decor, very clean and very good interior. The room size is adequate. There is a small balcony with small table and chairs providing the view of the road. The bathroom is fairly adequate but shower area is a little tiny. On the top floor there is a balcony with seating arrangement to get top view of Sils/just relax with a drink. Breakfast is good although limited spread. Pizza offered in the restaurant is very delicious also evident from many people coming for takeaways. They provide guestCard which provides free access to public transportation in the region which is very useful. Wifi connectivity was very good throughout the stay. The staff is hospitable, friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back next time.
Whatever you do, do not let them put you into Room 410. There is a terrible stench coming from the bathroom at any time day or night, probably cow dung or some such country smell, and it will definitely ruin your vacation. Also, it's the only room without a safe. And the pillows are a joke. I spent one sleepless night in #410, fighting with the pillow and gagging on the stench. Other than that, after being moved to #408 (no stench, with safe, balcony looking down onto the wild Fedacia river), I learned to get rid of any remaining frustration by punching my pillow into submission, and the world was good again. Ahhh. . . Good breakfast bar. Although there was a sign warning guests not to take any food out of the dining room; tried not to take that personal. Other than that: 15 minutes by bus to the Segantini Museum, and 20 to the Cafe Hanselmann in St. Moritz. Hotel provides free bus passes. One more word of caution: restaurant service for dinner was super slow. One hour between ordering and getting the food on the table is a bit long for my taste. Next time: the Waldhaus!
One of the best hotels I have ever been... cosy friendly. Excellent quality and friendly service. We arrrived there on a snowy evening and it was simply magic.
