I visited this restaurant in early November with friends and was very impressed. The atmosphere is relaxed and stylish, without being too overwhelming. The menu is diverse and exciting, with reasonable prices. The food was cooked perfectly and the portions were generous, unlike other places where you pay a lot for very little. The timing between courses was just right, allowing for a leisurely 2-hour meal with plenty of conversation. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering advice on unfamiliar dishes. The only downside was the cost of drinks, particularly mixers. In the future, I plan to buy a bottle of wine instead. Despite this, I have already booked to return just before Christmas for a special occasion and am looking forward to it.
I cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant after a fantastic dining experience! We received a warm welcome and immediately felt at ease with the pleasant background music and cozy atmosphere. The friendly and professional managers and staff took care of our every need at our spotlessly clean table. Each person in our group loved their delicious and beautifully presented meals, and we will definitely be returning to Ellington's in the near future!

Ellingtons what a hidden gem! Food is fabulous fillets that melt in your mouth and the Madeira sauce is out of this world. I can honestly say that my husband and I have never had even a mediocre meal here, it’s always a full on treat. I know that you only do 3 nights a week now but please don’t stop as you are our favourite restaurant in Merseyside. Thank you Cathy and Tony and your brother the best chef around
Visited Ellington’s today for a Sunday roast and it was amazing! It’s so hard to find a good roast out but it was great. Lovely atmosphere and really attentive staff. Will definitely be going back.
Went on a Sunday evening for my birthday. The service was spectacular the whole restaurant has a family feel and they really know how to look after their customers. Staff are so in tune with what makes a good restaurant and nothing is a bother. Drinks were excellent and the food was another level altogether. The honey parsnips on the that roast dinner, wow. The pork crackling was sensational. It really was a sensational roast dinner actually the best Iv ever had

As good as it gets next to a home cooked roast! Would have no hesitation in recommending! Good quality wine at a reasonable price! Lovely family run business, deserves to do well! Thank you!

The place is magical, warm atmosphere, cool music, exceptional service and staff . The food is amazing, very much value for money . John the chef is a genius and Cathy and Tony are great hosts . 10/10
First but not last visit to this amazing restaurant.. the owner Kathy is a breath of fresh air.. the food is lovey and the place is spotless..had a fab Sunday roast here today with my family and booked back in for next week! The atmosphere was great thanks to the owners who are in front of the house who are very accommodating. If you don't see something on the menu they give you plenty of options that aren't on the menu. Had a very enjoyable meal here on Saturday .The food was excellent , tasty and different to the normal menus locally . Service was attentive ,very relaxing atmosphere ,Will definitely go again
I and my partner visited for our Valentine's Eve, we always have the most amazing meal times in Ellington's so I had to share how amazing it is! eating is absolutely ineffective, the owners are so welcoming and friendly, the staff can not do enough for them. the French martinis are delicious! we have the goat cheese and the chili puwns and both were amazing. both had white black beef filet steak and it was cooked to perfection and better than some Michelin star sites we visited. was as light and not excessively sweet as a few places. frankly, nothing could fail and recommend
Friendly staff, food expensive, Starter was lovely. Sunday roast mediocre, had better desserts. Quite disappointed, as we have been there before and food was lovely.
Here can be time and eating, service and general experience is always excellent. the staff is very helpful and friendly and I never had a bad or even mediocre eating here. are perfect enough to place for a dessert of. a very standard as well as :0)
