Was Dan Florentin at Rob's Fish a mag?
A little hit or miss at times, but for the majority of my visits they 've been a good option. A reasonable amount of parking in their private car park is a massive plus for me. They 're also happy to accept orders over the phone and will bring orders to your car if they take a significant amount of time to cook Polite and friendly staff, definitely recommend. Edit: They 've changed their homemade coleslaw, which is n... View all feedback.

We recently visited Jolly Rogers Fish Bar in Buckfastleigh while on our way to Devon. Due to heavy traffic on the M5, we took a diversion on the A38 and stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. The freshly cooked chips were delicious, and the staff were friendly and engaging. We enjoyed a great conversation with them while waiting for our food. Overall, our experience at Jolly Rogers Fish Bar was fantastic. The food was excellent, the staff were welcoming, and the prices were very reasonable. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area looking for a good fish and chip shop. It's a 10/10 in our book.
I am disappointed with the recent decline in quality at Rob's Fish Bar. The fish has been consistently overcooked with dark brown batter and excessive grease. They also do not provide forks, and the staff seem indifferent to providing good service. It is frustrating to have to wait for the next shift to arrive before being served, despite the fish being ready to go. The portions are smaller than what is offered at other fish and chip shops. Overall, this experience was not satisfying, and I do not plan on returning to Rob's Fish Bar.
