Volterra - Seattle
Volterra
Description
Volterra, a beloved Italian restaurant in Ballard, is set to relocate soon. Despite some service hiccups during a busy New Year's Eve, the food and wine quality remained top-notch. The diverse menu offers delicious options, including gluten-free dishes and unique antipasti plates. While some dishes received mixed reviews, the wine selection and cozy ambiance received high praise. On the other hand, Wa Jeal impressed diners with affordable and delectable Chinese cuisine. The spring onion pancakes and chicken and broccoli were particularly highlighted. With excellent service and a charming atmosphere, it comes highly recommended. Lastly, Volterra was a hit for a cozy lunch, offering a fantastic two-course deal. Overall, both Volterra and Wa Jeal left diners satisfied and looking forward to returning.

Feedback
Our recent experience at Volterra was very disappointing. Despite being frequent patrons over the years, we were surprised by the slow and inattentive service, as well as the mediocre food.
The service was very friendly and everything was excellent! We heard that this restaurant is a favorite of a two Michelin star chef, and we can definitely see why. We will be returning very soon. Thank you!
Very good Italian fare with fairly attentive staff. Unfortunately Volterra's lease has run out, and they're looking for another space someplace in Ballard. So there will be some changes soon. I had the eggplant pouches which were delicious. Others enjoyed some gluten-free options. The salads are fresh and delicious. The night we were there, the place was packed, including one very large table that did suck up some of the servers time. Still it's a relaxing spot to reconnect with friends. Hope the new spot is as welcoming.
Recently dined at the Volterra Restaurant. The menu seemed appealing, but my caprese salad only had two slices of tomatoes.
The service was excellent as the wine choices. The Antipasta plate was very unique and good. My Halibut Entre did not taste like Halibut and was very fishy smell and tasting. I sent it back. The blessing was very gracious and brought me another escape. The other guest dinner wasn't great. The pig hard and chewing, another pasta dish was very salty. Great wine selection. It was a bit cold sitting on the windows, but it was private and we could all hear each other talking, not always the case in some restaurants.
