The Varsity Inn was a delight! I decided to stop into this place after seeing their VERY POLITE signs for nearby construction crews to please save the few parking spots on the side street of this diner for their customers. My husband and I went to this restaurant for breakfast today and were disappointed by the food. The oil used to cook the hash browns and eggs gave them a bad flavor. The bread also tasted stale. Our omelettes had canned mushrooms and spinach that smelled bad. My husband, who rarely complains about food, had to put hot sauce on his omelette to make it edible. Very tasty huevos rancheros, but know they are spicy. Excellent sausage and gravy biscuits thick gravy, fluffy biscuits. Great breakfast!
