Nestled in Ballard, this charming restaurant offers a classic breakfast experience with a delightful twist. Diners rave about its generous portions, particularly the pancakes and Latin-inspired dishes like the poblano pepper scramble. While many appreciate the attentive and friendly service, some review highlights note occasional service hiccups, especially during busy hours. A 20% service charge for larger groups can catch guests off guard, prompting discussions about tipping norms. Despite mixed experiences with certain menu items, the overall consensus celebrates the inviting atmosphere and quality food, making it a solid choice for brunch aficionados seeking comfort and familiarity.
This restaurant is a great spot for breakfast, as they serve it all day. We shared the ricotta pancakes, which were a must-try. They come with plenty of fruit and lemon ricotta, large enough to share between two people. I ordered the California benedict, which was delicious. They only offer regular coffee, no espressos or lattes. The staff is friendly and the dining area is open and inviting. The prices are good considering the generous portions. We had plenty of leftovers to enjoy later.
The breakfast was wonderful, we had the Bell town omelet and scramble, my wife's omelette was better, plus we shared a cinnamon roll what a dream, the only complaint is the fault of the governor showing the vaccine proof
The food was very good. Lemon ricotta pancakes were spot on. The eggs Benedict was good too. Large portions. Their mimosas were so so. There were different flavours but you can't really tell them apart
We have dined at this restaurant before for breakfast and had a decent experience. However, our first lunch at this location was disappointing. The food was subpar, with the tuna sandwich tasting less than fresh and the bread not meeting expectations. When we requested mayonnaise for the sandwich, it took a while to receive a small portion that was not up to standard, and we were even charged extra for it. The service was lackluster, with the staff appearing bothered by our requests. Other diners in our group also noted the poor quality of their meals. With many other dining options in the area, it is unlikely that we will be returning to this restaurant.
The food was delicious! I ordered the grilled cheese with tomato basil bisque, and the soup was amazing! My only complaint is that the cheese wasn't melted enough - no cheese pull! But other than that, the sandwich was perfectly toasted and still delicious. Overall, I would rate the food 4 out of 5.
