Feedback
After hearing about its acclaim and seeing it featured in various travel vlogs, I was determined to make this a dining destination on our trip. We were fortunate to not only find it easily but also to receive the best recommendation for a menu item! James, who was working at the Visit Seattle Visitor Information Kiosk near Pike Place Market/Post Alley (on the way to the Gum Wall), truly embodied the spirit of a Seattle Ambassador! At first glance, the storefront of Oriental Mart might lead you to overlook it. You'll want to approach whoever is at the front, as they have a handwritten menu on the table where customers pay. As we browsed through the menu, we found ourselves torn between several tempting options. Thankfully, we remembered James's suggestion: the "Trust Me" plate. What a great choice that was! It turns out that the Trust Me plate includes a sampling of various items from the menu. After placing our order, we were directed to a bar-style counter at the back of the store. And then... it arrived—a plate brimming with delicious Filipino food that, at first sight, might perplex some diners. But forget about perfect plating; what truly matters is the joy it brings to your taste buds and your belly! And oh, did it bring joy! I devoured my Trust Me plate, which featured Adobo Chicken, Curry, Afritada, Longganisa, a bowl of Salmon Sinigang, and of course, RICE! The owner generously offered us a taste of the Boneless Daing na Bangus as well, which we would have regretted missing because it was absolutely divine! The only regret I have is that they don’t serve coffee, but I’d gladly take that chance to dine here again. Writing this reminds me of one of the best meals we enjoyed in Seattle, and I wholeheartedly recommend that everyone experience this unique dining adventure—it’s truly worth it! Just a heads up: if you're looking for the typical restaurant ambiance with neatly set tables and folded napkins, this is not that kind of place. But don’t let that deter you... GO!
This charming spot for Filipino cuisine in Pike Place Market is a must-visit. Leila, the staff member, was incredibly friendly and made sure we enjoyed some fantastic dishes! The adobo, sinigang, bangus, and longanisa were all amazing. If you're looking to skip the long lines at other restaurants in Pike Place, definitely stop by here!
