Mondello
Description
Mondello offers a mixed experience with some diners praising the prompt and friendly service, delicious spinach salad, and cannoli, while others criticize the chewy pasta, stale bread, and abrupt service. The food receives mixed reviews with some enjoying the halibut and lasagna, while others find odd flavors in dishes like guanciale and lasagne. Despite differing opinions, many appreciate the warm ambiance, welcoming staff, authentic Italian cuisine, and dog-friendly streetery with heaters for chilly Seattle nights. Overall, Mondello has the potential to improve by making simple adjustments to achieve a better balance of flavors and satisfy a wider range of tastes.

Mondello Italian restaurant in Magnolia is excellent. It’s actually Sicilian style. It’s in a cute little area and has indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant has a charming look and feel and the staff is nice and direct. The food is delicious! It was amazing and we will totally go back. The pasta is fresh and made daily. The smoked salmon ravioli was excellent. We also ordered the fettuccine di mare which was great too. The kids ordered a mac cheese and a lasagna and they thought it was good. Overall, the food is great and it was nice sitting outside. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $20–30

This restaurant is one of my absolute favorites in the Seattle area. Every bite makes me feel like I’m traveling to Italy and reminds me of the authentic flavors and tastes I experienced there. The owner is a precious Italian lady who has truly brought her culture and authenticity to Seattle. I love coming to this hidden gem. I highly recommend the lasagna and the ravioli! Another amazing meal at Mondello. I started with the roasted beet and walnut salad. The perfect dressing makes this a great starter. Next the handmade Smoked Salmon Ravioli was perfection with a glass of Merlot. I sopped up the luscious lemon cream sauce with a piece of their semolina bread. If you have not yet found this treasure in Magnolia, make a reservation now! A small cozy ambiance and reasonable prices for Seattle. Great for a date night, families, and small parties.
My son and his girlfriend dined here before Winter Ball. They were treated very poorly by the staff. My son, 16, has grown up eating in nice establishments and has been taught manners and to tip accordingly. They were seated at a rectangle table opposite each other and when and my son's girlfriend sat on the side of him because she is hard of hearing they were told they were being disruptive to the other customers and for her to move back. Then they asked if they could please move to another table in the corner away from the entertainment that was going that night that was extremely loud and they were told no. I cannot remember a time when my son has ever come home from eating anywhere and actually complained about the service. Awful! No return customers here.
