This restaurant is one of my absolute favorites in the Seattle area. Every bite makes me feel like I’m traveling to Italy and reminds me of the authentic flavors and tastes I experienced there. The owner is a precious Italian lady who has truly brought her culture and authenticity to Seattle. I love coming to this hidden gem. I highly recommend the lasagna and the ravioli! What GenevieveK dislikes about Mondello:
We really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, the food is just not very good. The service was great and it's a cute place, but the execution of every dish was poor. Basically, it's all underseasoned buffet food that really tastes like it came out of a chaffing dish (wet bland chicken served with soggy vegetables). Nothing tastes fresh. A really heavy hand with the sauces (butternut squash ravioli was in a h... View all feedback.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant ! Most delicious Italian food and great service!
The food was mediocre at best, although the ravioli was a rip-off with only 5 poorly cooked pieces at $26. We called earlier to say we're celebrating a birthday and the moment we entered bearing a birthday cake, the staff stopped us in our tracks and pointed out that they charge a per person cake fee of $3.50, which I've never encountered in other restaurants before. There's also an additional 20% tariff for large groups. We were a party of seven. We had a group voucher which should have been applied to the total Before taxes, but the staff forgot, and didn't bother to redo the math and applied it after, driving up the costs. Pointing out the hidden costs here, and coupled with the very mediocre fare, you might want to think twice about visiting this place, especially for special occasions when you don't want it ruining your night. There are places which give you a better run for your money and time.
Squid ink with garlic was the best. I thought I had the best dish but my guest preferred theirs, so it speaks to the quality of each dish. It's in a very nice part of town, and the restaurant itself is lovely, though in a somewhat more isolated area. Not to worry! There's a bus route that will take you very close to the restaurant. Great vegetarian options. Food came out very quickly, and the presentation was beautiful on the squid ink pasta.
Mondello Italian restaurant in Magnolia is excellent. It’s actually Sicilian style. It’s in a cute little area and has indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant has a charming look and feel and the staff is nice and direct. The food is delicious! It was amazing and we will totally go back. The pasta is fresh and made daily. The smoked salmon ravioli was excellent. We also ordered the fettuccine di mare which was great too. The kids ordered a mac cheese and a lasagna and they thought it was good. Overall, the food is great and it was nice sitting outside. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $20–30
