What User doesn't like about El Borracho Ballard:
I'm sorry, but I loved this place earlier before he was completely vegan. now nothing is done in the house, except perhaps her sauces. have the sincean barbacoa bowl, quite sure that it whipped vegan jerk. my friend has a Schrymp-Taco and it was gummy and creepy, she couldn't eat it. Eating was hardly warm and served in togo containers, although we ate there. bad quality food since the production of the plant is base... View all feedback.
The vegan Mexican food at this restaurant was surprisingly tasteless. It's more like a bar with some inexpensive plant-based options rather than a true vegan eatery. The standout of the meal was definitely the flavorful sauces. I wouldn't suggest this place when there are better vegan dining choices nearby.
This was my favorite spot in Ballard until they switched to a fully plant-based menu. I don't mind eating plant-based, but I find their current offerings unappetizing. I am patiently waiting for them to close down so that a better restaurant or bar can take its place.
Completely misleading. My daughter and I visited this restaurant expecting a vegan meal as it is advertised as a vegan restaurant. However, after waiting approximately 4 minutes to be served, the waitress informed us that they no longer serve vegan food and only offer regular dishes. There were no apologies or explanations given. If you follow a vegan or vegetarian diet, I would not recommend this restaurant as they do not cater to alternative diets and the staff is not friendly towards them.
Used to really enjoy this restaurant, good food, good atmosphere and an awesome location. Went in for the first time since 2020 and it appears like it must be under new ownership.Plant based menu is a good idea in theory but food was basic with limited options and for lack of better words just not very good. Was left really disappointed.
Great friendly service and cool atmosphere. Was super excited to see that they went vegan but the food is really lacking a lot of flavor. Doesn't help that it's all served in paper to go containers even when you're dining in. I'll keep going once a month or so and will update this review if things change! Perhaps more important than the food is the margaritas which are incredible, strong, and affordable.
