Cursed Oak - Seattle
Cursed Oak
Description
Cursed Oak boasts an eclectic ambiance with vibrant 90s-00s music that sets a lively mood. However, the service leaves much to be desired, with long wait times and issues coordinating reservations. Guests appreciated the flavorful ragu and delightful pork belly sliders, though some criticized oversalted chicken wings and strange menu mishaps. Despite the service struggles, many found their meals memorable, particularly praising cocktails and the care provided by the diligent, albeit overworked, staff. Cursed Oak presents a promising dining experience, but better management could enhance the overall enjoyment.
Feedback
We made a reservation for dinner, but when we arrived, there were no available tables. As a result, we had to find a different spot to sit. There were three of us, and we managed to find a couch, but it was quite uncomfortable for having dinner and chatting. I didn't enjoy it at all. What's the point of making a reservation if we don’t actually get a table? A couch simply isn't the same experience. Our other option was a narrow bar that was too small to accommodate our plates and drinks. I'm quite frustrated and won’t be returning for a meal.
Took over 12 minutes to be greeted. Not a great way to start our before show dinner. Seemed like there was only one person working floor. Tables uneven, hodgepodge. Uncomfortable seating arrangement, very close to neighbor table.
Food was outstanding. One of the specialty cocktails was forgettable, but the Manhattan was stellar. Waitress was friendly and quite adept. It is a small kitchen and they were quite busy. We had show tickets and were getting a little anxious about being able to actually eat. They made it, we made the show. But give yourself a little more than an hour and a half if you don’t want to watch the time.
Went to Cursed Oak based on Open Table reviews and we were NOT disappointed. We were celebrating my daughter’s birthday and it was the perfect place on a rainy Saturday night. From the craft cocktails and one of the largest liquor selections around to the small plates, there was something for everyone. Next time I’m in Seattle I will go back. Great food, friendly service and reasonable prices for the Belltown area.
