We recently dined at Citizen Collective in Seattle and sampled their vegetarian dishes. Unfortunately, the food left much to be desired, with flavors that were quite ordinary and, frankly, bland. However, the restaurant does have a redeeming quality—its outdoor ambiance. The setting is pleasant and well-suited for a relaxed meal. While the atmosphere was enjoyable, the culinary experience didn't quite match up. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $30–50 Recommendation for vegetarians: Somewhat recommend Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labelled vegetarian dishes Parking options: Paid street parking

This place has a charming vibe, and we were excited as we placed our orders. However, when the food arrived, it was quite a different story. My huevos rancheros was a bland, unappetizing mess. The Bloody Mary tasted like diluted tomato juice. If we hadn't already prepaid, I would have asked for it to be taken off the bill. This was truly disappointing, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. It was hands down the worst brunch I’ve ever experienced.

I really enjoy this place, and that's the bottom line. The outdoor atmosphere is fantastic, especially on a nice day, the neighborhood is lively, and the drinks are great. Normally, I don't post reviews, but I wanted to share my experiences for the benefit of the establishment. Unfortunately, I've encountered a defensive and confrontational attitude from the staff on multiple occasions. I'll keep it brief: 1. One time, a friend in our group questioned the drink she had ordered for years because it came in a smaller glass than usual. When she politely asked the waitress about it, the waitress seemed to misinterpret her tone. We assured her it wasn't a big deal. However, shortly after, our party was denied further drinks without any explanation. Despite our calm demeanor (I assure you, we weren't being loud or overly intoxicated), when we inquired about it, we were told we were being rude to the staff. 2. Another friend’s meal arrived very late, even though she had ordered it via her phone at the same time as the rest of us. By the time her food finally arrived, everyone else was already finished eating. She decided to politely ask for an update, but the waitress responded rudely and defensively, in a noticeably snappy tone. Citizen can be a fun place, but just be cautious of the staff when they're having a bad day!
