Burgermaster - Seattle
Burgermaster
Description
Nestled in University Village, Burgermaster has captured the hearts of locals with its vintage diner charm and delicious offerings. With ample parking and inviting seating, this iconic spot has been a go-to for satisfying burgers, crispy onion rings, and thick milkshakes since 1952. Patrons rave about the nostalgic ambiance, reminiscent of classic diners, while the diverse menu caters to all tastes, including breakfast and unique specialty items. However, a looming closure for development has sparked sadness among loyal customers, who cherish the warm, friendly service and the memories made at this beloved establishment.

Seattle's old school burger restaurant. The original burger is a great standard. $8.
This is a place where variety is king. You can get just about anything in the Americana menu world, breakfast through dinner. None of it is sublime, but all of it is executed reliably. Variety that could please just about any group of any age, and all in a mid-century vibe...get it while it lasts. When this is gone, an entire genre of restaurant is gone from the landscape. Is this progress? If you've been in Seattle for a couple -few decades, and if you're around when its replacement takes its place, you decide!
I will miss the U Village location! Used to have lunch with my dad there often, when we had the Volvo dealership on 55th. Thank goodness the Bothell location is near me to satisfy the onion ring and baconmaster cravings!
If something is not broken, there is no need to change it! When you step into this Burgermaster, you are immediately taken back to the 1970s and there is nothing wrong with that.
