Was Holly Brickey Hanks at Brella's a mag?
We have been staying here for the past three weeks due to a medical emergency, and I can't say enough about how fantastic the staff and management have been! They have truly gone above and beyond to ensure we have a comfortable stay. This has been a challenging time for our family, and it’s comforting to know that there are people who genuinely care. The rooms are impeccably clean, and every staff member has been inc... View all feedback.
What Hillary N dislikes about Brella's:
This place was terrible. When associated with a major hotel chain I expected better. Should have taken the empty restaurant as a sign. Service was terribly slow and disorganized. The food was barely passable. Ordered a cheeseburger but asked for cheddar instead of american. It was delivered with no cheese at all. All 4 meals had an issue. Took over an hour to get things right and two tables came in and walked out wit... View all feedback.
The bar is separate from the restaurant, so ordering a drink with your meal can be inconvenient, depending on whether the server shares the drink options with you. Service was lacking; we often had to wait for water and coffee refills, and aside from taking our order and delivering our food, the staff did not check on us. On one occasion, we came down to order fried ice cream to take to our room to avoid the expensive room service fees. After waiting about five minutes for the server, we were informed that we would have to wait an additional ten minutes for her to deliver a room service order. Seriously—only one person is handling both the restaurant and room service? If you're staying at the hotel and really want to avoid going outside, this is a workable option, though it only serves breakfast and dinner, so lunch is not available. However, there are many better dining options nearby, and I would recommend choosing one of those instead.
We were staying at a hotel nearby (not the Best Western) and decided to try Brella's since it was late and conveniently located. We ordered the Brella Burger (with fries), Brussels Sprouts, and Caesar Salad. Given the reviews we'd read, we expected the food to be mediocre and bland, but we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent quality, freshness, flavor, and generous portions of all three dishes. The service was a bit inconsistent, but it didn’t ruin our experience. We would definitely dine here again.
The food at this hotel, considering its level of quality, is quite good. The breakfast buffet offers a variety of international dishes, with both hot and cold options available, and items clearly labeled as gluten-free. There's a generous selection of delicious food, all for just $8.95.
Review is for the bar, I didn't go in the restaurant. The bartender's service was great, she was friendly, and though she admitted she wasn't the most knowledgeable, she made sure you liked what you got. There is a free pool table as well.
My boyfriend has been buying those Restaurant.com gift certificates (pay $3, get a $25 GC) and we 've had fun trying out new places around Seattle. While driving around looking for Brella 's we had to stop and call for directions because we couldn 't find it. Best Western, how may I direct your call? Ohhh that 's right... someone neglected to add on their restaurant.com GC details that Brella 's is actually the restaurant INSIDE Best Western. Determined to use it anyway we park, walk in through the hotel lobby to Brella 's Restaurant and Lounge where there were a total of two people working, about four families eating from out of town and a TV in the corner. In fact, here 's a direct quotation: From sandwiches to steaks and everything in between you will enjoy the casual and relaxing atmosphere of Brella 's on Taylor (just a quick walk from the Space Needle). If you 're in the mood for the lighter side just order one of our Big Salad 's or our weekly seafood special. And for you sports fans; every game day is a win with a huge plate of nachos and a 64 oz. pitcher of beer for only $7.95. Excuse me, do you mention in there ANYWHERE that this is the Best Western? Awkward silence abounded... apparently hotel restaurants don 't believe in background music.. and we ordered the most that we could to fulfill our $30 minimum. My bf had the steak and shrimp and garlic mashed potatoes while I ordered shrimp scampi with mushroom risotto. The shrimp were about the size of a lifesaver and the risotto probably came out of a can filled with salt. Needless to say, we paid more than it was worth, including the deal from the website.
