Was Jessica T at Bitterroot Bbq a mag?
I decided to drop by this restaurant on a whim last Friday, and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was lively, and the service was very friendly. My husband is quite particular when it comes to BBQ, and he isn't easily impressed, but even he enjoyed what we had. View all feedback.
What Joshua B dislikes about Bitterroot Bbq:
The original chef has left, and the food just isn't the same anymore. It's disappointing because this was one of our favorite places. I'll have to remove it from our list. View all feedback.

Alongside my main dishes, I enjoyed a selection of delicious sides. The French fries were crispy and seasoned just right, while the cheddar grits offered a rich and creamy complement to the meal. The standout for me was the jalapeno cheddar cornbread, which added an exciting kick to every bite. The restaurant's ambiance was inviting, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. I opted for the indoor area, where I appreciated the rustic decor and cozy atmosphere. The waitress was attentive, providing excellent service throughout my visit. One small drawback was the fact that they accepted only card payments, but this did not detract from my overall experience. In summary, this BBQ spot impressed me with its flavorful and ample offerings. The combination of succulent meats, generous side dishes, and attentive service made for a delightful dining experience. Whether you're a BBQ aficionado or just in the mood for a hearty meal, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
By Seattle BBQ standards, Bitterroot is quite good, but by southern standards, it's lacking a lot. The meat is generally well cooked, but the cut on the pork ribs is inconsistent and, at times, will be delivered with the membrane and tendons still attached. The sauces are genuinely very good, especially the spicy sauce, and they have the best North Carolina sauce I've found in Seattle, but the fact that it needs sauce to be good is a problem. The ribs come out already coated in a sauce and are missing the flavor of the dry ingredients that they probably don't apply to them. The brisket is very tender, again very well cooked, and is probably the safe bet to order, but was quite dry one of the two times I've had it so sauce may be needed to moisten it. All that said, it's not a bad place, and in Seattle, you're hard pressed to find better.
I have come here twice, both times the food was very good. However the service on the second time was not good. We brought in a stroller which the waitress seemed annoyed by, it definitely seemed like she'd just have preferred we left. She also was annoyed that we asked to split the check, which is a very basic request. The food is good but there are a lot of other great options on the same street so I'm not sure I'd come back again.Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly
We had an excellent experience with Bitterroot catering our reception! They were very communicative and friendly, sharing their expertise from previous work in the Cathedral space. Our guests kept praising the food throughout the night! A big thank you to Camille and Hannah for making our event a success! Highly recommend!
Incredible! The Stonehenge sandwich, featuring cranberry, turkey, basil, and cream cheese, along with the Smokey the Pig sandwich, were absolutely fantastic. They were so delicious! If we didn’t live on the other side of the country, my husband and I would definitely be regulars here. It’s a must-visit spot in Ballard. Food: 5/5
**Bitterroot BBQ: A Seattle Gem** Nestled in the heart of Ballard, Bitterroot BBQ offers a tantalizing mix of flavors that pairs well with its lively atmosphere. While the restaurant impresses with its well-cooked meats—particularly the brisket and standout sauces—some diners have noted inconsistencies, especially with ribs that can occasionally miss the mark. The sides, including crispy fries and jalapeno cheddar cornbread, elevate the experience. Service can be hit-or-miss, with varying degrees of attentiveness, but the overall vibe remains inviting. Despite a crowded culinary scene, Bitterroot BBQ is a worthy destination for BBQ lovers seeking a gratifying meal in Seattle.

The food was incredibly delicious, and the service was even better. As a small business owner, I can confidently say that customer service is paramount, and Harry's truly excelled in this regard.
