Description

Nestled in the lively food hall of Uwajimaya, Aloha Plates offers a glimpse of Hawaiian cuisine that elicits varied reactions. While some patrons appreciate the fast service and generous portions—especially of the chicken katsu—others criticize the overall flavor and quality, reporting dry proteins and unremarkable rice. The small mac salad portions leave diners wanting more, though the homemade style has its fans. With limited seating and a casual takeout focus, Aloha Plates straddles the line between convenience and culinary excellence, making it a spot worth trying, albeit with tempered expectations.

If you're in a hurry for lunch in the International District, this spot offers fast service. I've been here several times and always stick to the simple cheeseburger and fries for a quick and easy meal on-the-go. The burger is basic with just bread, meat, and cheese, so don't expect anything fancy. The fries are tasty but on the greasy side, which some may love. Keep in mind that seating is limited, so be prepared to take your meal to go.

My nephew was celebrating his birthday and chose to dine at Aloha Plates, located in the Food Court of Uwajimaya. He thoroughly enjoyed the Pork Katsu with rice and even requested an extra container of the delicious sauce. Parking was convenient as we used the Uwajimaya parking lot, and wheelchair accessibility at the restaurant was not an issue.

Ordered the ONO combination plate. Came soggy. No char on the teriyaki chicken or the short ribs. Seems like both were sautéed in sauce. Neither proteins were grilled as depicted in the photo. Will not be ordering again .Food: 1/5

Okay, this is a take-out restaurant. There are a few tables in the Uwajimaya Food Court area. That being said, I have tried the specialty burgers in a number of places. Often I have been disappointed. That is not the case with Aloha Plates Aloha Burger . To me what really made it great is a combination of pineapple with the special sauce they use. You 'll need a few napkins! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
