Friendly front desk and super easy check in. The pool/ hot tub area was clean and enjoyable. We paid the extra 10.00 online for the breakfast when we paid ahead of time. It was well worth it! Buffet breakfast with omelets cooked to order by Carl, the chef. The biscuits and gravy were wonderful and the orange zest crepes were to die for! We also had a few cocktails at the bar the night we arrived. Staff was friendly.... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Hilton Scranton Conference Center:
The hotel is old. There were issues with the AC from the start and the evening front desk did not let us know when we checked in. Front desk was sarcastic when we asked about. It’s a pet friendly hotel but the nearest grass is a park down the road. Garbage cans were overflowing. We had to walk through the smoking area to get to the garage where you pay and additional fee to park. It’s not a place we would consider ag... View all feedback.
The breakfast buffet is very poor quality. Next time I’d save money and go to the “Northern Lights Espresso bar and cafe” round the corner (it was really nice ? . Other than that the hotel is fine but not good value for money.Rooms: 3/5
We have been on a long road trip and stopped here for the night. The pool was nice and the room is large. The restaurant bar was not very clean and the tables were sticky. In the room next to ours, there must’ve been one or two large families in there with kids, screaming all night and banging furniture, slamming doors, banging on the walls, etc..
Service was decent but this place is just simply worn out and blah. Holes in the bathroom wall, broken mirror edges, triple-caulked bathtub, faded/frayed carpet, etc. I travel multiple times per year and this is the most mediocre hotel I’ve occupied in as long as I can remember. Feels like Hilton bought it from another bankrupt brand and slapped their name on it without doing any maintenance.
This Hilton hotel and the nearby Radisson are both located downtown. Hilton has newer rooms inside. Lobby of Radisson needs a refresh. Advantage to Hilton is the gym and pool. Also the staff were terrific! We forgot something in the safe and Lewis at the front desk found and returned it. Magical!
The Hilton Scranton Conference Center used to be our home for a twice per year gaming convention. While the convention has moved out of the city of Scranton, the Hilton remains a favorite. The facilities are very well maintained and the rooms are comfortable (it's where Presidents and other dignitaries stay). However, it is the people on staff which make it special. Over the years, they have consistently been friendly, prompt and accommodating. They are knowledgeable of the area and they understand both hotel science and customer service. While there are not a lot of different dining options in the hotel compared to a vacation area resort like at Disney, the ones that are there are good. I especially enjoy the breakfast buffet (I hope it is still there). The chefs are good and willing to make special requests. The fruit is always fresh. As for the bar, PJ's, their burgers are very tasty. And, there is a Starbucks in the lobby which is a plus when you need a quick breakfast and do not have time for the buffet.I miss staying at the Hilton Scranton for our conferences but there is no doubt that I will stay again whenever I visit Scranton.
