Seasons, a restaurant nestled in the Borders, evokes a spectrum of dining experiences. While some patrons rave about the exquisite use of locally sourced ingredients, noting tender venison and meticulously crafted dishes, others describe the ambiance as lacking, with uncomfortable seating and low lighting detracting from the experience. The limited menu has been critiqued for uninspiring choices, although occasional high points shine through. Service is generally acknowledged as attentive, with efforts made to accommodate. Despite its mixed reviews, Seasons remains a hidden gem for some, promising potential for an exceptional culinary adventure.
Not as great as we thought it would be. OK but underwhelming but the worst thing is the chairs. SO uncomfortable, Huge and hard. We had to leave early due to back ache. Maybe they don't like people to linger so make it as uncomfortable as possible!
Excellent locally sourced food beautifully cooked. Excellent wine list. Very nice surroundings in the restaurant and very well hosted.
Looking for a better standard of takeaway after a disappointing experience we noticed Seasons whilst driving past and looked it up, interesting. We ordered from the ‘At Home ‘ menu as we were staying locally and were not disappointed this time The ordering process and pick up went as planned with the restaurant being quite helpful in the timings for pick up if we needed it due to traffic. Dishes came in oven ready containers with instructions (Timings) Starters of Pigeon and also their Scallops were great before a main for two of the Fish and Seafood Gratin which maintained the high standard with ease. A new way of doing takeaway for us and one we will look to repeat
If not for the recommendation of our hotel, we would not have found this restaurant. Ate what may well be the most tender and tasy venison I have ever eaten! Freshly sourced menu, highly recommend this restaurant!!!
Despite being labeled as a casual dining spot, this restaurant exceeded our expectations in terms of food quality in this region of Scotland. The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was professional, friendly, and efficient. The menu is well-rounded and changes weekly to highlight the freshest local ingredients available each season. Each dish on the concise menu was meticulously crafted, and everything we ordered was flawlessly prepared. Seasons is a hidden gem, offering a dining experience that rivals some of the best restaurants we've visited. I wish we lived closer, but we will definitely make the journey from Wales to dine here again soon; it is truly that exceptional!
