Was GKTravellers at Burt's a mag?
Fortunately we had booked a table in advance as the restaurant was packed on our arrival. Service was prompt and professional. Our mains of sea bass £22) and haggis stuffed chicken wrapped in bacon £19.95) were beautifully cooked ad presented. The sticky toffee pudding £8.50) to finish was swimming in toffee sauce and simply delicious. View all feedback.

What GOMS2013 dislikes about Burt's:
We 've been calling in here for coffee for some years now. We originally were recommended to come here by a friend who knew of it from many years ago. As another reviewer said its got an 'old school ambience ' family owned, dependable and unceasingly good. So we stopped for lunch it was a Monday and most of the tables in the bar were taken always a good sign. Our menu choices were spot on, especially the kedgeree. Mu... View all feedback.

We were in the bar section for our meal which we booked as a casual night with friends. We were very happy with our choice as the food was beautifully cooked and very tasty. Would definitely recommend it.

We'd popped in her for a drink after a couple of local walks (good for real ale a relative rarity in these parts) and were surprised by the length and breadth of the menu, so decided that the next day, if we weren't too...

Compared to where we dined the night before, this restaurant was absolutely fabulous. The food was great, the service was friendly, the staff was accommodating (our reservation was happily changed last minute due to road closures caused by bad weather), and the atmosphere was cozy.

This is our favorite place to dine with our dog in Melrose. During our week in the Borders, we tried three dog-friendly restaurants, but we found ourselves coming back to this one twice. On our first visit, I had the most delicious Cream of Chicken and Mushroom soup I've ever had. It was so exceptional that others around us were also raving about it. My wife enjoyed the garlic bread, which was better than usual. The Haddock and Chips were excellent, and my wife loved the chicken Goujons. We returned for a second visit that week and both ordered the Goujons again, which came with a mango dip and chips and salad. They were fantastic and very filling, and even our dog got a taste. The Chef deserves a pay raise, and the servers did an outstanding job, earning a generous tip. Thank you!
