Went to spend a bit of time away from the craziness in Gstaad during tennis week, and found this little gem just down the road. Family owned and operated for over 100 years, and the staff are incredibly friendly as well as accommodating. Breakfast on the terrasse is a bonus in the Summer months. Thank you for having us!

Quite a nice hotel in Schönried. The hotel is quite old-school styled, and the room #21 was clean but dated in furnishing. The room faced the main road, and for some reason was overheated to an uncomfortable level, so I did not sleep well for the first night as opening the window meant noise from the traffic nearby. Staff who were tip-top and accommodating did rectify this by placing a fan in the room for the second night. Breakfast was nice, good quality products. Wellness room 50 CHF for a 90min private session including sauna, jacuzzi etc. was also nice.

Very nice family run hotel with clean and comfortable rooms. Option to book for an extra charge the wellness for private use. Location is a little bit relevant, it depends what sb wants. For skiing it takes 2 minutes by car to the parking of the lift. I would recommend it for groups or families.

We couldn’t find a hotel I Chateau d’Œx (pronounced sha-toe day) for the hot air balloon festival so we decided to stay here which is a 10min walk to the station and a 30min train ride to Chateau d’Œx. Wha a lovely family run boutique hotel. Going back in time in style. This has more amenities than most hotels. If you want to live your Swiss Chalet dreams with good food and/or want to do some skiing or sledding nearby this is a place for you. The hotel attends to detailed needs and have good service. There is a bit of creaming from the attic floor where my son and nanny slept but we had to block the stairs from our dog so he won’t accidentally fall off. I find the double sink toilet convenient and there are enough towels for everyone. See photos for other bathroom amenities. I really appreciated the make up face towel. It’s the first time I’ve ever been provided with one in all my travels. For improvement: 1. the PURE HERBS toiletries which contain high risk ingredients despite the name. It’s no problem because I always bring our 3-in-1 soap fo face, body and hair that’s all natural. 2. We couldn’t find the price list for all the drinks and snacks in the room. It was t not beside the chips as they said. 3. They provide German style square pillows which if hard to sleep with if you are used to a firmer pillow. I was happy to see on the bedside this sign (see last pic) that said “If you prefer a thinner or different pillow or blanket, we'll gladly bring it to your room -just contact the front desk.” We requested but they said they did not have any other pillow so I just asked for another square pillow and pray that I get to sleep tonight. The rooms look lovely in the daylight
