The food wasn't tasty, but it looked good.

We tried to have coffee and cake there yesterday and a few months ago after a walk, and both times the service was so inattentive, or presumably the owner, so unfriendly, that we left. Two attempts, never again...it's such a shame that such a place exists in the area.

A family outing took us to the Hotel Restaurant Cafe Sandplacken, nestled below the Großer Feldberg mountain in the Taunus region, for a coffee and cake break. Since we didn't stay overnight, this review focuses solely on the restaurant. The place was packed, but we were still greeted warmly and shown to a table that had just become available. It took a little while before we could place our order, which was perfectly understandable given how full the restaurant was. The cake was delicious, almost like Grandma's. The staff was very friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The only downside is that the building itself could use some renovation. Aside from that, the cafe is definitely worth a visit.

The food was okay, but unfortunately a bit dry. Besides mustard, I would have liked something like ajvar with the cevapcici, as is usually the case. And ketchup or mayo with the fries. Many dishes also didn't come with a side salad, which would have significantly improved the meal. The service, however, was excellent. Even though it was very busy, we didn't have to wait long.
