This place seems like it could be featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, so you know the food has to be good. It's cooked right on the grill in front of you. The service is quick and friendly, and the food is fantastic. It's no wonder they've been in business for over 70 years!

Relying on their reputation! The restaurant was dirty from top to bottom, including behind the counter and the cooking equipment. The hot dogs were nothing special—average in size and the chili sauce was quite forgettable. After hearing so many local radio personalities rave about this iconic spot over the years, I was disappointed to find that you can get a tastier hot dog next door at Stewart's, where you can also add your own toppings with a better chili sauce. Unfortunately, I was not impressed.

Mike's provides an authentic local experience that's truly unique. You have the option of sitting at the counter or at a table, and they also offer takeout. The prices are very reasonable, and their milkshakes are exceptional. The fries, served with the skin on, are absolutely delicious, and don't miss out on trying a hotdog! They also serve breakfast, with everything made fresh right in front of you.

Mike's is a charming Mom and Pop shop that has a lot going for it! It's cash only, which is something to keep in mind. They serve a solid hot dog – not the best I've ever had, but definitely not the worst either. I particularly enjoyed the spicy flavor. I would have rated them 4 stars, but I found the hot dogs to be a bit on the pricey side at $2.40 each; that seems excessive for a simple hot dog with all the fixings, as shown in the photo. Would I return to Mike's? Perhaps, if I'm in the area again, but I probably wouldn’t make a special trip just for it.

Nestled in Schenectady, this beloved Mom and Pop eatery stands out for its simple yet satisfying menu, featuring hot dogs and crispy fries. While pricing has drawn some criticism, the bustling atmosphere and friendly service compensate. Diners are treated to a genuine local experience, with everything prepared fresh on-site. Breakfast options and delicious milkshakes further enhance its appeal. Despite mixed reviews on cleanliness and the overall quality of the hot dogs, many visitors appreciate its quirky charm and nostalgic vibe. Open for over 70 years, this spot remains a must-visit for classic comfort food enthusiasts.
