Malcolm's-schenectady - Schenectady
Malcolm's-schenectady
Description
Malcolm's in Schenectady captures diners' hearts and palates with its eclectic menu and inviting atmosphere. While many rave about its farm-fresh ingredients and attentive service, some experiences remain underwhelming, marred by slow service and inconsistent food quality. Grievances include improperly cooked dishes and less-than-inspired desserts, which detract from the overall dining experience. Many patrons, however, fall in love with standout plates like duck tagliatelle and steak cooked to perfection. The personalized service and charming ambiance, reminiscent of trendy NYC spots, make Malcolm's still a contender for those seeking a memorable meal. Reservations recommended.

Very much enjoyed my experience at Malcom's this evening. All the customers around seemed happy too. Service is great, server and bar tender are very friendly and do a great job creating a great dining experience for those dining in. The food is absolutely amazing. I especially love the squash fritters. Love the music too. Would highly recommend! A must do in Schenectady
I just went to Malcolm's with a group of friends and it was incredible! I especially appreciated the creativity of the seasonal menu for this farm-to-table restaurant in January. Would be here all the time if I lived in the area! To start, we had a number of appetizers. Our favorites were the crispy brussel sprouts with bacon jam and the smoked ricotta with snap peas I had never had anything like it before but the ricotta was incredible, like a better version of hummus. The duck sope really stole the show though. It was so juicy with a handmade corn cake you could tell was freshly made. I loved the sope so much I ended up ordering the duck confit as my entree with a side of sweet potatoe puree, green beans, and beets and I am so happy I did. It was easily the best duck I have ever had, it just melted in your mouth. For dessert, we tried everything, the sticky toffee pudding, apple cobbler, and chocolate pot de creme, which honestly were all delicious. If I had to pick, I would say the vanilla ice cream on the toffee pudding was my absolute favorite. I heard they make it fresh on site. You have to check this place out!!
It was decent. Good food. Nothing profound. Moderate to small portions. The dessert was a complete let down. They need to be more creative. The drink was very lack luster too. Food was cooked nicely, well plated, unique butter and fritters. Unique use of squash. Staff was very attentive. Very accommodating with substitutes.
I don’t do a lot of reviews but this place seriously deserves it. Everything here is awesome the ambiance, the friendliness of the staff, and the food from start to finish. I always recommend it to anyone passing through, or visiting the area. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
Too many good things to say about Malcom’s. They went above and beyond with my allergy. They also provided some of the best fine dining food I’ve had. Each dish was well thought out. I look forward to being a regular here!! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50
