Tucked below street level, this charming restaurant offers a cozy, rustic atmosphere with exposed brick and warm lighting that creates a unique, welcoming dining experience. The menu features standout Southern fare, including expertly prepared crab cakes, flavorful eggs Benedict, and comforting classics like chicken gumbo and chicken and waffles. While breakfast dishes shine—particularly the hollandaise and French toast—some sides like hash browns and French onion soup can be hit or miss. The attentive, friendly service enhances the experience, making this hidden Savannah gem a favorite for locals and visitors seeking authentic, hearty meals in an inviting setting.
I just had lunch at Debi's Restaurant. The atmosphere was really pleasant and cozy, with a simple yet elegant decor that gives it a semi-underground vibe. As for the food, I ordered the Eggs Benedict and was impressed by how quickly it was served. Overall, I would give this dish a 6 out of 10 at this moment, mainly because the hash browns and the muffin were cold. On the bright side, the egg was delicious and cheesy!
My wife and I have been residents of Savannah since 2003, and this morning was our first visit to Debi's. I can't believe we hadn't discovered it sooner. As our waitress mentioned, it's the best-kept secret in Savannah! The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was quite unique. Although it's located below street level, the stairwell allows for some natural light to brighten the space. We highly recommend it and will definitely be returning!
Absolutely fantastic! This place is exactly what you hope for in a cozy Southern breakfast or lunch spot. It’s somewhat tucked away in the basement of the East Bay Inn, where my wife and I stayed, but the atmosphere is lovely, the food is delicious, and the service is outstanding. The owner, Debi, came over to say hello, which was a nice touch. If we had stayed in Savannah longer, we definitely would have returned for more!
I ordered the chicken waffles and fish sandwich. Overall, my meal was great! Amazing prices, sweet staff, and a gorgeous restaurant. My waffle was fluffy and sweet, served with a lovely peach and walnut maple syrup. Chicken was good, but I foundmyself preferring the fish. My only criticism would be the fries...definetly not enough seasoning. Definetly worth checking out!
My wife and I have lived in Savannah since 2003 and we just ate at Debi 's for the first time this morning. I don 't know how we missed it, but as our waitress said, it 's the best kept secret in Savannah . The food was delicious and the atmosphere wasquite interesting. It is located below street level, but there is natural lighting from the stairwell. Highly recommended! Wewill be going back.
