Fong's Kitchen - Saskatoon
Fong's Kitchen
Description
Fongs, a Vietnamese restaurant in Saskatoon, has impressed many visitors with its cleanliness, friendly staff, and timely service. The Wonton Soup and Sate Beef Rice Noodle Soup received rave reviews for their flavorful broth and generous portions. The Vietnamese coffee was also a hit, although some found it a bit too sweet. The restaurant recently moved to a new location on Faithful Avenue, where it continues to attract customers with its affordable prices and satisfying dishes. Noodle bowls, summer rolls, and noodle bowls are all popular choices, with customers praising the fresh ingredients and fast service. Regulars appreciate the consistent quality of the food and often have a difficult time choosing between the Vietnamese and Chinese options on the menu. Overall, Fongs offers a bright and cheery atmosphere, welcoming both new visitors and returning customers looking for a tasty and quick lunch option.

Clean and well kept, the staff is lovely and your food comes out in a timely fashion. The Wonton Soup has flavourful broth, and the Sate Beef Rice Noodle Soup (Pho) was filling -the toasted peanuts on top were a lovely touch- plenty of noodles so you won't leave hungry. The Vietnamese coffee is LARGE and delicious but, in my opinion, could benefit from less sweet cream. All in all this has become my new favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Saskatoon.
We decided to go for lunch today at a place I drive by all the time. Fongs. Yes it is in a strip mall with another restaurant in the front of it, which I tried before. Fongs, is bright, cheery and not dark and dingy. The place houses a tables to manage the lunch crowd nicely ( I would recommend going early). I ordered the Pad Thai Chicken and Shrimp. I would like it to have a bit of kick of the Thai food I am expecting but hey there is Sarachia sauce to give it a bit of boost. The food was quick and not unreasonably priced and a the right portion for lunch. I come back and try something else again.
Went for noodle bowls and summer rolls with peanut sauce. Tasty and delicious! Very busy at lunch time both eating in as well as takeout! Quick and friendly service.
Amazing dining experience! We ordered the Thai chicken pillows, roasted chicken rice, ginger beef, and lemon chicken, and everything was delicious. The meat was freshly cooked and incredibly tender. The portions were generous and satisfied all five of us. The food wasn't overly salty, so we didn't feel the need to chug water afterwards. Highly recommend!
My spouse ordered the 1B Lunch Special, which came with deep-fried shrimp, chow mein, sweet and sour pork, and an egg roll. The shrimp looked delicious and were not greasy at all—they were well cleaned. However, my spouse wasn't very impressed with the chow mein, noting it had a slightly off flavor. Overall, though, the meal was enjoyable. Our child had the satay chicken soup. We found the broth to be very aromatic. We all agreed that we would come back to this restaurant. I would have given a higher rating, but the server lacked personality. On the bright side, the owner, who was working the counter, was a very friendly man.
