Description

Bain's BBQ restaurant has received mixed reviews, with some customers complaining about hair in their food and dry ribs, while others praise the fast and friendly service, delicious burgers, and creamy potato salad. The staff's dedication to helping a coworker in need was particularly impressive. Although there were some minor disappointments, such as the mac and cheese not meeting expectations, the overall experience at Bain's BBQ seems to be positive, with generous portions and reasonable prices. Customers have commented on the great service, tasty food, and consistent quality, making it a recommended spot to try in Sarnia.

My brisket was a rubber tire... I don't have the picture of it anymore but I assume that's why they took the review down... out of sheer embarrassment. It was quite literally a horrid greyish green colour, with that hint of a rainbow hue like it's been off a week :/ they wanted to go and carve me off another portion, and when I asked if it would be from the same brisket they said yes and tried telling me that's what brisket is supposed to look like... lmao yeah okay. I declined another attempt. The "warm potato salad" they insisted was going to be delicious tasted like it had soured coleslaw runoff in it...it was absolutely revolting. The only thing edible were my sweet potato fries and honestly that would have been just plain shameful to have messed up. Anyone should I hope be able to use a fryer. I wondered why the parking lot was empty at 5:30pm... don't have to wonder now. They took the brisket off the bill but still charged me for the mess of warm potato salad and the fries. The fries fine... but I didn't touch my potato salad after the first regretful bite. My husbands steak was a chewy mound of overcooked meat. But he did like his potato chips. He too found the warm potato salad to be off and didn't eat his. One of the worst experiences that either of us have had in years, as after telling the waitress of the issue she became cold and rude.

We visited Bains for a quick evening meal. Unfortunately, the service was rushed and poor despite the lack of other customers. Both the server and the cook seemed inexperienced. When I mentioned to the bartender that the service was slow, he acknowledged the issue but took no action to improve it. No one checked in on us after taking our order and our drinks were not refilled. The food, however, was of good quality, with the burgers being especially delicious. But at $15 per burger, the mediocre service was not worth the price. Are you willing to spend $50 on two burgers, drinks, and subpar service? I don't think so. Hopefully the management improves soon.

I used to dine at this restaurant regularly, but it had been almost two years since my last visit due to budget constraints. With the ongoing pandemic and no clear end in sight, I decided to make more of an effort to support local restaurants by dining out at least once a month. I chose Bains for my first meal back, and I was thrilled that I did. The Mac and Cheese Bites were a new addition since my last visit and were absolutely delicious—I didn't realize what I had been missing. In addition to that, I ordered a veggie burger, poutine, onion rings, rosemary and garlic cheese bread, sweet potatoes, and veggie kabobs to surprise my friend for an impromptu date night. We had a wonderful meal and will definitely be returning for more takeout orders in the future, and hopefully dining indoors again soon. Thank you, Bain's, for cooking up such delicious home BBQ.
