Yes, it is a chain, but it is hands-down the very best pizza I have eaten. But there is so much more than pizza - pasta and salads are on the menu, too. Our server, Dani, was super friendly and we enjoyed the experience. View all feedback.
What Norbert Lakin doesn't like about Boston Pizza:
The food here is still just ok in my opinion and pricey. 32 $for 1 large pizza . The service is good. They have a varied selection of house favourite za's. We haven't been here for awhile but the pizza we enjoyed the szechuen spicy chicken was no longer an item. We had a gift card so we used it. I had the jambalaya edible. Very commercial here . Food was great as always! Service was pretty good. It was freezing in there in the middle of summer! We were in there for dinner on a Wednesday night and it was dead. Didn't make for a great atmosphere, but I'm sure it's better on weekends.
The quality of the food is good when dining in, but we have encountered several issues with our delivery orders, from long wait times to receiving incorrect items.
We were regulars at this place until the day we were served an obviously "past-its-date" Jambalaya dish. The pasta was fine but the sauce had clearly gone bad and was disgustingly sour. Having ordered the same dish in over a dozen previous visits, it took me one bite to realize the sauce was rancid. I immediately reported the situation to the server and asked her to inform the manager. She took the plate away from the table without even acknowledging my comment or offering an apology. There was no offer of a substitution or a new meal. The manager walked past our table twice without ever stopping to check on us, I saw him speaking to our server whom obviously informed him of the incident but he did nothing. I sat there while my children finished their pizza and left as soon as we noticed our bill included the full charge for the spoiled Jambalaya. The food had always been the average sports-bar, industrial-type food with no particular charm or flavour but at least was never spoiled until that day. The service was always mediocre but that particular day it proved completely unacceptable. Having a manager ignore a situation like that made me think that this place has no regards for its patrons satisfaction or even their well being. I could have suffered a serious case of food poisoning as the dish contains seafood and sausage. But seems all it was important was that we paid our bill in full!
This restaurant review is rated four stars. There were four adults and one child in our party. When we arrived, the host quickly informed us of the specials and asked if we were ready to order before we were all seated.
We have been to this destination several times in the past year as it is an easily accessible restaurant to visit with friends, and each time it just gets worse. And it's not the staff. It's the lousy cooks. Each and every time they have absolutely ruined a lovely piece of salmon. They have no idea what a Caesar salad is supposed to look like because it sure isn't the plate of limp and overdressed lettuce they send out. Food that is supposed to be hot, is generally not. Fries have to be returned. Garlic bread with cheese so cold, it's congealed. The pizza sauce tastes canned, and a cheap version at that. The list is endless. And then there are the prices which are so over-the-top for crappy food that it's embarrassing except to the owner who takes his money and laughs all the way to the bank. When there are so few half-decent food establishments in small-town Sarnia, it's pitiful they can't find someone who knows their way around a restaurant kitchen. Shame on you.
