What Christy G doesn't like about La Playa Bar Grill:
Food might be great here, but we were grabbing coffee on Sunday morning at the coffee shop next door. We sat at a table outside thinking it was a community area for Gulf Place. Unfortunately, the manager of La Playa came out and told us the tables were only for LaPlaya breakfast and made us move... I completely understand, but there was no one in the restaurant. It didn't even look open on Sunday morning at 8 AM. Pro... View all feedback.
Skiiiirrrrrtttt. New LaPlaya hold up. Def the local bar with 5 Five high def TVs w/ sports package for college and NFL football with that no fuss beach bar feel. But not unfussy enough to miss out on delicious food. We had the tacos, cheese dip, and quesadillas for the W! LaPlaya is under new management since April 2019 and it shows, come find out yourself...it's delectable and popular. Instagram novelty photos available You want quality food and entertainment? Come on, vatos.
I grew up coming to La Playa as a teenager on vacation. I recently moved to the area and decided to pop back in. Their Mexican street corn was great; I'd go back solely for those again. Glad to see La Playa making a comeback in my life and those around me! Keep it up, y'all!
Food was decent but the price you end up paying for what you get seems a bit steep? Three people, $40+ gets you a salad, a burrito and two tacos? Pass on the margarita's too because you will be disappointed. I'd be surprised if same folks own this establishment in eight months.
Wow! Can't believe the rudeness from the employees at this place. Got in to town about 9:30 and was trying to get the kids something to eat so we checked Yelp. It said the restaurant was open until 11:00. As we walked in the employees barked at me that they were closed. Just as a curiosity, I let them know that yelp said they were open until 11:00. The guy lead into me about how yelp was not run by them and his thoughts about yelp. He basically let me know about how bad Yelp was. I did tell him I used Yelp anytime I went out of town and that is how I find out about places near by. He basic discredited yelp and continued to tell me his feelings about it. I told him I was just letting them know and he didn't have to be so rude. We will be here all week but we will not be go bf back to check this place out. If they can't be nice to me when I walk into the door then I definitely don't want to try their food. So if you do try this place be sure to go before 8:30 because they close at 9 even on the weekends.
The food was bland and mediocre. Def not worth the price. $15 dollars for two tacos that are ehhh and some chips and salsa. The chips were bland as well. Friends got the Quesadilla and it was burnt and bland. Not one person in a group of five finished their meal and it wasn't because they give you a lot. The people were very nice though although there were issues with the order but the Mexican corn was good. Great location leaves it with room for improvement. That area could use a delicious taco place as the location is pristine.
