Gilbert's El Indio - Santa Monica

I have been going to Gilbert's for 40 years and it is the best Mexican food restaurant I have ever been to. They serve the best margaritas and the staff is always wonderful. My kids love it too. Even though I have moved far away, I make sure to visit every time I am back in town.

Authentic cuisine with better than average quality. The guacamole is outstanding. Excellent service and family-run establishment. Don't forget to request the extra spicy Diablo salsa. As of 2024, they now accept credit cards while still offering the same delicious flavors.
