Guests rave about flavors like nutmeg, orange blossom, and New Mexico chilies, with many recommending the exquisite chili hot chocolate and organic sea salt ice cream. While pricing can be steep—$8.50 for a small chocolate bar—customers appreciate the generous tastings and charming atmosphere. Though service experiences may vary, with occasional indifference noted, the overall experience makes this quaint shop a must-visit for chocolate lovers and travelers seeking delightful indulgences in a cozy setting.
Kakawa is amazing!! This award-winning Chocolate House is a must-visit spot in Santa Fe. Their chocolate, from elixirs to truffles, is decadent, rich, and features hints of fruit notes. Be sure to try a small elixir (the Kakawa American is their top seller) and a couple of truffles to start. You will be pleasantly surprised by how satisfying the experience is!
The chocolate at this restaurant is absolutely divine. It is all handcrafted and comes in a variety of flavors including nutmeg, orange blossom, rose, and New Mexico chilies. Our favorites were the Jeffersonian, Marie Antoinette, and Rose Almond. They also offer free tastings of the chocolate heated in almond milk, which is very generous. However, the prices are a bit high, with a 1.7oz bar of chocolate costing $8.50 and a small bag of drinking chocolate priced at $16.
This chocolate shop is absolutely amazing with a great selection of unique truffles. The goat cheese and sage truffle was surprisingly delicious with a subtle flavor that wasn't overpowering. I could definitely eat many more of these! The chai elixir was also fantastic, not too sweet. I would definitely go back and highly recommend stopping by when you're in town. The staff is wonderful as well.
