We visited my friends living in Sandusky and we decided to go to the small city centre for breakfast. On Saturday we had a wonderful server and you all should request. Unfortunately, I don't remember her name, but she was the only black woman that worked. She took care, worked her butt and very kind. Since our first experience was great, we decided to go back. There were 6 of us at a table and we ordered our drinks and food. Well, the server came back to the table and told us that they were from soda glasses and that we had to wait for them to be cleaned. We understood and ordered our food. When the food finally arrived, we hadn't got any drinks yet and she auctioned the food. I'm sorry, but I think the auctioning of food is one of the worse things a server could do. About 10 minutes to eat our food and about 25 minutes no water in our glasses, we finally have our soda. The funny thing is that the pop glasses were the same as the water glasses. We sat there and saw her give glasses to each table, at least 40 minutes before we got in the same glasses that the water was there. No one helped our server out until the magic pop or I wait, I mean, water glasses came out. After dinner we waited about another 15 minutes until we were frustrated without our checks and our dishes were still on the table. We went and asked the lady behind the counter for our check and waited another ten minutes. I think you're typing for your service. When a server is busy, other workers need to get up and help. The only time our server had help was halfway through our meal. Some of us waited outside when people pay out with credit cards. To my surprise, my friends came out and explained what had happened while they were inside. After a terrible experience in the diner, my friend gave a ten percent tip on her meal. The lady behind the counter was upset that she paid half the check with cash and the other one with card. Or the revenues were wrong and we didn't want to wait another 10 minutes to make them right. After she started complaining our lady behind the counter, the last of us went, she didn't know she was part of our table. She said how she couldn't believe that the person was just typing a dollar before her. According to her, the reason the server lacks teeth is because she can't afford health insurance and that we were all college kids who had to get out of town. The part she forgot that even though some of us were in college, we paid customers. The perception I received was that tourists were not welcome in their establishment. I decided to talk to a manager because nobody should ever complain about tips for customers. Some of us are in college, but most of us are very successful professionals. In no way should a restaurant benefiting from tourists to bash them. I saw a server outside and asked him if I could see the manager. He asked me what was wrong and how I told him his face was shocked. He asked who it was, who said everything, and then he said that the manager was in the kitchen. I walked in and when I waited, the lady behind the counter started with an attitude. I told her I was just waiting for the manager and not talking to her. She said I was a college kid, shouldn't be there and that she was the manager. If she is actually the manager, the owner should be ashamed. I told the lady behind the counter that she had no right to complain about a tip and how our service was terrible, so she deserved it. She asked what I knew about the service because I was just a college child, so I told her that most of us were actually from college and served before. Most of us are in our mid to later 20s and you should always respect your customers no matter where they come from or how old they are. After she began to curse me and raise her voice, she explained that I had to leave the restaurant or she would call the cops. I went out of the door and explained that she would regret being rude to the customers. The food was good. I ordered a broccoli and cheese soup that was very blanching and my friends were also not happy with their meals. The morality of this post is: if you want a restaurant, the bad food, terrible service and a manager who hates tourists... then this is the establishment for you.
