Description

Tucked away in downtown San Mateo, this tea and boba shop boasts a diverse menu highlighted by robust tea flavors and unique drinks. While tea enthusiasts will appreciate the quality offerings—like the Original Yunnan Black Milk Tea and innovative options such as oat milk tea and Hawaiian fruit teas—boba lovers might be disappointed by the undercooked boba texture. Service can be inconsistent, with reports of long waits and inattentiveness. With a convenient digital ordering system and a rewards program, it’s worth a visit for a refreshing drink. However, be prepared for a few bumps along the way.

If you enjoy a strong tea flavor, this place offers an excellent selection of teas with generous toppings compared to other places. However, the boba here is a major downside, being undercooked and sometimes tasting old. Toppings start at $0.75 and only a few teas come with boba. The menu also has a limited selection of teas and toppings. Tea enthusiasts will appreciate the quality of the tea here, but those looking for good boba should consider going elsewhere.

Great variety of beverages available, particularly enjoyed the delicious fruit teas. Convenient ordering process using the digital kiosk. Don't forget to take advantage of their 5-star rewards system by entering your phone number.

The black milk tea has a strong flavor of tea, but the pearl (boba) tastes average in terms of sweetness and texture.

I enjoyed the Original Yunnan Black Milk Tea! The tea flavor is strong, but not too bitter. I got 75% sweet and this was perfect for me. The milk tea was silky and very satisfying. It definitely is highly caffeinated too. Kept me awake all day! : The biggest downside is that there is only one cashier/barista working, so there can be a wait. This location is close to a lot of restaurant hot spots (Ultra Sushi, Halal Guys, Taki Nori, etc. , so they can get pretty busy when everyone is going for a boba run after they eat a meal.

The worst customer service ever, even for an Asian joint. The girl had her earbuds on and passed out on the counter. She hadn't even begun our online order. I had 4 items and she didn't put fruit in the split cup (which I paid extra for), because she said it was a split cup. That's cheap tactics so I paid $7 dollars for sugar water! Never going back!
