What User doesn't like about Il Fornaio San Jose:
For an Italian restaurant that supposedly makes their own pasta in-house, I did not expect that they would overcook the pasta on every dish. The best dishes were the appetizers. The sauces for the pastas were good but not particularly impressive. Service was friendly and food came out in a timely manner. Prices are not worth the quality. View all feedback. read moreThe restaurant offers a mixed bag of reviews, with some customers lauding the service, wine selection, and ambiance while others criticize the poor quality of minestrone soup and flavorless bread. Pricing for buffets and valet service has also been called into question. However, the pasta dishes and tiramisu have received high praise. The atmosphere is generally praised for being well-decorated and fitting an Italian theme. The variety of menu options, especially on the gluten-free menu, are mentioned positively. Overall, experiences seem to vary greatly depending on the specific dishes chosen and level of service provided.
