What User doesn't like about Il Fornaio San Jose:
For an Italian restaurant that supposedly makes their own pasta in-house, I did not expect that they would overcook the pasta on every dish. The best dishes were the appetizers. The sauces for the pastas were good but not particularly impressive. Service was friendly and food came out in a timely manner. Prices are not worth the quality. View all feedback.
The pasta dishes we had were perfect and Alberto was a perfect server. He took great care of us!
After 4 minutes my starter was on the table and after 11 minutes, i didnt even finished my starter, they put the main course on the table!
The atmosphere was lovely. Despite being quite crowded, the noise level was just right. The desserts were exceptional, and the entrees were very good, though not quite outstanding. The cocktails were excellent as well. It was a great choice for our preteen kids. However, the service felt rushed. Our appetizers arrived within 5 minutes of ordering, and our entrees came just 2 minutes after we finished the appetizers. The pace for dessert was better, a bit slower. It was prom night, so they may have been hurrying due to the expected large crowd.
We really enjoyed our night ! The food, recommendations, and service was incredible. The ambiance was nice too.
Service was very slow. Although we were one of the first parties to be seated when they opened, it took a very long time from ordering to getting our food. Servers were all very nice.
