If you choose the all-you-can-eat shabu shabu along with unlimited sake and beer, be sure to pace yourself and eat something before you start drinking. The drinks arrive quickly, but it's smart to keep your pace steady at the beginning. Remember, this isn't a race! Take your time to savor the food for a while. Trust me—and John! Enjoy your meal! I've visited this restaurant twice with groups of about 12 and 6, and both times we've had an amazing experience. It's primarily a hot pot restaurant, but the only meat they offer is high-quality beef. The highlight is that for just an additional $10, you can upgrade your all-you-can-eat meal to an all-you-can-drink deal as well! The drinks are great too—there's house sake available both warm and cold, along with beers like Sapporo, Asahi, and TsingTao. I highly recommend it!
This restaurant is essentially a shabu shabu place disguised as a classic American diner from the 1950s. The menu is straightforward, offering all-you-can-eat shabu shabu options, with the choice of adding unlimited sake and beer. While it may not be the trendiest spot, the clientele tends to be youthful. The service is satisfactory, but the seating can feel cramped. It can get a bit warm inside, so be prepared to shed a few layers. If you're craving shabu shabu in San Francisco, this should definitely be on your list of must-visit places.
