the waiting staff was excellent and the sushi was better! lol. eating was fresh. good wine and beer selection. we ordered the philadelphia roll and california roll. I loved the salmon and krab husband ordered the wonderful poke salat, miso suppe, edemame and Sashimi-Board with tuna, salmon and groupers. delicious. this place is popular. View all feedback.

I was here in the past, but for some reason the sushi didn't seem so fresh. Not sure why, but the hospitable I brought it didn't cost at all. will eventually try again and hopefully it will be better. View all feedback.
We only get nigri now after coming here over 10 times bc quality is soo good. Rolls are really good too though
I am amazed that this restaurant has been open for nearly 20 years! It is still thriving with excellent food and superb service. I hope it stays around for another 20 years. Thank you.
My husband and I absolutely adore Umi Sushi. It is hands-down the best sushi in town for us. We never even consider going anywhere else when we're in the mood for sushi. Umi is always our top choice. The sushi here is phenomenal, bursting with flavor and generously portioned. Not to mention, the prices are unbeatable for the amount of sushi you get. The location is also unbeatable, nestled next to Shelter Island.
I live in the Bay Area and nothing compares to Umi sushi. I cannot believe the quality and price. I pay twice as much in SF for a lot less. I always come back to Umi when I’m in SD.
My favorite place in SD for sushi! Great portion size, friendly people, fast service. Umi tower is the best dish.
