Contribute FeedbackNestled in a vibrant locale, the restaurant garners mixed reactions from diners. While many praise the beautiful ambiance and friendly service, the food quality and portion size leave something to be desired. Patrons highlight that the tastiness of the menu varies, with standout items like carnitas tacos and handcrafted drinks. However, some feel that the drinks lack flavor, and service can be slow or inconsistent. Despite these issues, there are positive notes, particularly regarding certain unique dishes and a knowledgeable chef, suggesting that while it may need improvements, the potential for a delightful dining experience is evident.
It is with a heavy heart I write this review as every single time I 've been to Tahona was a great experience starting with a mezcal tasting session and dozens of dinners ever since. Our last time however even though their food is DIVINE and the atmosphere is one of a kind our server happened to be the least enthusiastic person I 've ever seen working in hospitality. He had this resting grump face going, walked away from the table in the middle of our order (no, we 're never difficult patrons) and flat out ignored the fact our drinks had been empty for over 20 minutes on a chill evening. At the end of it all he had the audacity of preselecting his desired tip amount at I believe 25% and handed over the terminal with an unapologetic "Signature please. "I always talk up places that deserve it, and Tahona should certainly be on that list. Unfortunately this one person hindered the whole experience and our willingness to visit again soon.
We did the Tahona Experience and loved every course. All the foods were rich, the service was quick and the drinks were great. We like mezcal so there's many drinks with a mezcal twist. Will definitely be going back
Went here as part of a bachelorette celebration for my friend. She is a big fan of mezcal and tequila and this place blew us away! The place is very cute but it’s the food and service that made this an incredible experience. Our group was on the smaller end 5 total. We ordered the mezcalier’s flight and the Mexican states flight along with the mezcal margarita, pasion de mais, and guavasita cocktails. For food we ordered the seasonal guacamole, corn croquetas, tempura squash blossom, tetela mole flight, the rabbit pastor taco, camarones taco, and green goodness taco. It’s not an exaggeration to say I loved everything (I didn’t get to try the rabbit pastor taco) my personal favorites were the squash blossom and the seasonal guacamole.I personally got the mezcalier flight and the 3rd mezcal, Pasíon Ancestral was divine. I also had the guavasita which was so refreshing after the flight but I got to try the Pasion de Mais and I would have ordered another had we not had more plans. Finally the service that Zach gave us was just above and beyond. He was serving a lot of tables and yet we never felt neglected, he was a joy to talk to and his enthusiasm was very contagious. He really made the day that much more incredible. Because as many of us can attest to a great meal can be ruined by bad or mediocre service. So great service makes great food FANTASTIC!
I don’t understand the reviews. They tag on a 20% tip and service is terrible no wonder because they know they are getting a tip no matter what. Slow service, not friendly, they messed up our order. It was dead and still server with the neck tattoo couldn’t bother to come help us or check in. Our drinks hit the bottom a few times and he wouldn’t check in we finally decided to leave after we chased him to get our check. Drinks were the only thing that was good!
The food looked great on the menu but was quite disappointing when we tasted it. Fairly bland and unremarkable for the price.
