I loved eating here absolutely! I was here with a group, and that was the only option, but it turned out that it is delicious. I had the cheeseburger who was definitiw in the top class of cheeseburgers, I had to try the ceviche that was phenomenal! I would come here to have dinner, even if I didn't stay in the hotel, it's so good! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Polanco Kitchen:
I typically steer clear of hotel restaurants, but we were very hungry and it was getting late. I wasn't expecting much, but to my surprise, we were served some fantastic Chicken Enchiladas, flautas, and delicious margaritas. What impressed me the most was the service, especially for a more casual setting! The staff was incredibly friendly, they promptly refilled our waters, and the food arrived in just minutes. It’s... Food was soggy and bland, completely under seasoned. The salsa was watery and tasted like just tomatoes. This restaurant is simply not authentic Mexican cuisine. If you are looking for a watered down flavorless version this is the place for you.
I was very excited to try this place out and left feeling so unsatisfied. I came with a small group I made the rsvp) and there seemed to be no server... We waited for 20min for someone to take oro drink order then another 15 for water/drinks. Fearing this was the way our meal would continue we quickly places our orders including chips and guacamole to snack on while we waited. 20min later we got the guacamole and another 20 for our meals. Not one person liked their dish and the food was all cold and over seasoned. We waited another 20/35 to get the bill...20 to pay it... Never again! Gorgeous decor and ambiance though .
Not sure why this place is rated so highly. The food is just okay, I had a carne asada torta and it was very bland. Pretty inconvenient location too (unless you are staying in Hilton of course). Service is good, not great. Overpriced. 3 stars.
It was a nice place for the only option inside the Hilton Hotel. Prices were ok, a little on the pricey side. I would never order chicken enchiladas for $22. Not when I live in San Diego. We did order the ceviche and $22 roasted chicken. Which was cooked very nicely. But it was tiny. Not worth the price in my opinion. Next time I'll stick to the $14 menu items.
Allow me to clarify: POLANCO is located inside the Mission Valley Hilton. Don't make the same mistake I did and get lost. That aside, I enjoyed a few drinks here, which were fantastic, though I can’t recall what they were, haha. I do want to mention that the nachos are incredible, and they serve a generous portion!
