What May May doesn't like about Menya Ultra Mira Mesa:
Came in around 6pm in the evening for dinner and was told that there was a 30 minute wait for a table when there were many tables open. The girl at the counter was kind of rude to us when she told us there was a wait. Waited for about 15 minutes and saw so many groups come in and ask for a table and instantly get seated. The food is delicious, but it's starting to become more Americanized.
Ramen is ok but a bit salty. I'm not excited about the lack of sweetness either. Not on my favorite list of ramen places.
Easy waitlist time on yelp. Busy Saturday evening but gone in within 20 minutes. Fast service. Just order and pay off menu. Yummy ramen.
Tonkotsu ramen here was very tasty! Broth and chashu were on point. Chashu was soft and noodles had good firmness, but not too firm. 10 out of 10 recommend.
I used to love this place and have been coming here for over two years, but since they 'remodeled, ' it’s not the same anymore. The biggest issue is that they are severely understaffed. There was only one waitress handling everything, and it looked like only two cooks were in the kitchen, so everything takes much longer than it used to. They also replaced the pencil and paper ordering system with QR codes, which makes it harder to customize orders, like replacing noodles with bean sprouts.
