Contribute FeedbackLa Fiesta offers a mixed dining experience. While some customers rave about the tasty short ribs, margaritas, and Mercado salad, others complain about awful service and disappointing food quality. Mixed reviews mention accommodating staff, large margaritas, and great ambience, but also encountered issues with reservation mix-ups, slow service, and overpriced bland food. Some express disappointment with the decline in food quality and portion sizes. Despite some positive experiences and friendly servers like Manny, there is a general inconsistency in food quality and service at La Fiesta in the Gaslamp area of San Diego.
Service was horrible. We went to La Fiesta for my 30th birthday and booked a week in advance for 20people. It took forever to get both our drinks and our food served. I ordered enchiladas suizas and it came with rice and beans but the rice was undercooked and the beans tasted like they came right out of the can. Definitely not going back. We had one server for a group of 20.
Food was disappointing. I had carnitas plate and it tasted like limes. My friend had enchaladas which were not good either.
The food was good but everything else was TERRIBLE!!!!!! We went for my husband 'd weekend birthday celebration and did not have a very good time. The food , although good, was overpriced for what you got. The waiter was loud and abusive and hostile he got the orders wrong, the drinks wrong and even messed up how I wanted my credit cards charged!!! And when he was asked about any of those things he got aggressive say such things as, I did 't give you those drinks! . I didn 't know that, what am I a mind reader? He also was 't very attentive. Needless to say, I will not go back or recommend this place to ANYONE!!!!!!!!!
We visited La Fiesta several times in the past, although it's been over a year since the last visit. We found the food quality has gone down, they actually charged $2.50 for chips and salsa which are standard free items at every Mexican restaurant we've ever attended. The food portions were smaller and, quite honestly, not as tasty. Disappointed.
My experience at La Fiesta was terrible! The food was awful and the service was equally bad. Four people in our group of 20 ordered dishes that required green sauce, but we were given red sauce instead because they had run out of green. This should have been communicated to us when we ordered. The chicken fajitas I ordered were extremely salty and I couldn't even eat them, despite being recommended by our waiter. We were all very disappointed with our meal, especially considering we spent $400. I will not be returning to La Fiesta.
