Knotty Barrel Rancho Penasquitos

Came here for some lunch after hiking Black Mountain and was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. They also have a decent selection of craft beers on tap. Overall great experience eating here so I'd definitely come back ?

The service and atmosphere was very good and friendly. It is a great place to enjoy a weekend lunch or dinner and drinks. The food (fish and chips) was good but under seasoned in my opinion.

This is a great neighborhood pub. Relaxed casual atmosphere with a decent selection of beers on tap and great food. My favorite is the burger. I'm super picky about my burgers. Knotty Barrel is 1 of 2 places I know I can consistently get a great burger. (The other is Churchill's in San Marcos)Kid-friendliness: The outdoor area is great, quite park like, kids can get their wiggles out without being a huge imposition on everyone else. The still can't run amok, but they can be kids, with their families and friends.

I celebrated my birthday here with my best friends, we had brunch and stayed for the anniversary party, and it was the greatest day ever! Everyone was amazing, the food and drinks were delicious, we couldn’t have asked for more. Definitely recommend, and I know that we will be back!

Everything was going well until the “GM”Nathan walked up to us. Disrespectful manager who ignored my request and was extremely rude and unprofessional. Sized me up for requesting a drink.After we called him out, he gave pathetic reasons for his horrible service. He should be fired and they should step up their game.On top of that, the servers were late and did not check up with us throughout our time there. The most pathetic GM I’ve ever come across, pathetic service, okay food and okay deals.
