The tacos are good but I don't know that they're double the price of normal tacos level good. The carnitas and chicken tacos came with the meat encased in something, not exactly sure what. Might just be the browning in how they cook it separately. I was a fan of the flavor of all three and was surprised how filling they were, they certainly aren't light fare. Chips and salsa were also solid. View all feedback.
What Josh A doesn't like about Dirty Money Headquarters:
why would anyone come to puesto for Mexican food in all of San Diego? overpriced food for below average unauthentic taste while the rest of san diego offers amazing culinary experiences. On top of this, they are adopting surge pricing. This is enough of a reason to never go here. Now the owner is copy/pasting the same message onto every review here mentioning the BS surge pricing. It's a scam. Shame on you! View all feedback.
Returned to one of our favorite spots in town, especially during Restaurant Week. Puesto can be a bit pricey, so Restaurant Week is the perfect opportunity to visit. My only complaint is that they removed the filet mignon taco from the fixed menu options this year! Please bring it back! I can't believe I forgot the name of our wonderful server, but I recall he's from Wisconsin and moved to San Diego in 2019--talk about high-quality service! He was incredibly attentive, and we enjoyed observing his friendly interactions with each table. It was clear he was enjoying himself at work!
Why would anyone choose Puesto for Mexican food in San Diego? The prices are inflated, and the taste is mediocre and far from authentic, especially considering the incredible culinary options available throughout the city. To make matters worse, they’ve started implementing surge pricing, which is a definite red flag. This alone is enough to discourage anyone from visiting. Furthermore, the owner seems to be responding to every review with the same generic message about the surge pricing issue, which feels disingenuous. It's a disappointing experience overall—shame on you!
Man, it was jammed! Thank goodness we made reservations. It's a modern Mexican chain restaurant and boy, was it popular. The food was freaking delicious. Plus we had a few margaritas which always makes the food taste great. Recommended: Fried pork rinds Ceviche Guac Salad Fish tacos Shrimp bowl
If you're in search of a healthy choice, definitely go for the bowl! I had mine with shrimp, and it was fantastic—the shrimp was perfectly seasoned and grilled. The rice was also excellent. The service was good, and the atmosphere was pleasant for brunch.
Cucumber margaritas were delicious. We loved the chips and salsa and guacamole and ordered too many tacos after sharing a wedge salad. The salad was a tiny slice of lettuce with a lot of cabbage and blue cheese dressing. If you don't like cabbage, this is not for you. We ate the shrimp tacos, which were really good, but wasted the chicken al pastor tacos. We were too full. I forgot to take photos until most of the food and drinks were gone, but here's a few. The service was good, if a little slow due to it being busy. The décor and seating was nice. We object to the 4% fair wage and health care surcharge. That's a cost of doing business. Pass the charges through the menu and stop whining about paying your employees such a pittance in wages and healthcare.
