I believe Maya was the barista. She had very good temp control with the milk. They had cayenne pepper so, she was able to make a spiced Mexican mocha. The one possible imperfection could be the espresso acidity... a bit more than I prefer showed itself in my cortado. View all feedback.
What steph thompson doesn't like about California Bean:
Cute shop and really nice people but unfortunately the coffee was a miss. Latte was watery and not creamy, and definitely no espresso taste. All I could taste was raspberry syrup. Lemon cake was super dry. Way overpriced for what they serve unfortunately. View all feedback.
My sis and I happened upon this place while visiting Old Town, and the atmosphere and coffee are just superb! The set-up is so cute, and was actually perfect. Not only were the gals who were running it so kind, but the coffee was quickly made, and probably one of the best iced lattes I've had (anywhere), period! Definitely recommend the iced latte with a shot of vanilla. Muchos Gracias!
This place is truly a hidden gem! I was in the area for a work retreat, and during my walk from the hotel to our meeting venue, I stumbled upon this charming little spot. I decided to stop in for an iced latte, and it was fantastic. The coffee beans they use are exceptional. The staff I encountered over three consecutive days was absolutely delightful—warm, welcoming, and incredibly friendly. It's the perfect way to kick off your day!
What a fantastic little place! The coffee was superb; I had the iced white mocha and some banana nut bread. The white mocha was wonderfully creamy, and you could really taste the caffeine. The banana nut bread tasted freshly made, just like home.

I ordered a large Disney in a cup with soy, and it came to just over $8. It was so delicious—definitely the best coffee I've had in quite a while! It had three shots of espresso in it. I also tried a large hot Mexican mocha with soy (vegan), and it tasted like a delightful Mexican pastry. It was really tasty! They don’t have a water tap, but they do offer bottled water for sale.
