We were celebrating my friend’s birthday. My friends and I love to come here. The waiter we had just was not getting it for us. We had been avoiding a visit to this popular restaurant for a while due to the loud noise we could hear from inside and even from the outdoor patio as we passed by. Finally, we decided to give it a try for dinner and found the noise level to be overwhelming, with loud music and conversation as we had anticipated. The patio was slightly quieter than the interior. The service was quick and friendly. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. Despite being so close to the border, San Diego should have a wide range of options for authentic Mexican cuisine. However, in our experience, the quality of Mexican food in San Diego falls short compared to places like Phoenix and New Mexico (Santa Fe, Albuquerque). At Baja Betty's, the food is at best average American-Mexican fare.
If you happen to be in San Diego, you absolutely must visit this restaurant. If you want a laid-back, welcoming, and fun environment with amazing food at affordable prices, then this is the place for you! From the moment we walked in, we felt at home and our waiter treated us like old friends. Trust me, you have to dine here! That's all there is to it.
I would rate this restaurant higher than a 5 if I could. We were recommended to try it by a local in San Diego and we were pleasantly surprised by how great it was. The menu selection was extensive and the food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was also wonderful.
Was in town for a weekend and thought we would try it based on reviews. They did not dissappoint us as service was great along with the food.<br/ <br/ Fun clean atmosphere that doesn't disappoint.
My friends and I had the brunch that also offers bottomless mimosas. The best part about this place is the people that work here! This is the most fun I've had a restaurant ever!
