Great restaurant with amazing food and service. Close quarters so volume is moderate, but Zazie is a must recommend for anyone going for French food in SF.
We 've been coming here for many years, even before we discovered the great Doggie Monday deal $10 off a bottle of wine and treats for the dog). The last couple of times we visited, the blush was off the rose everything was fine, but nothing rocked our world although the service was impeccable as always, by the hyper but unflappable waiter). Last night Zazie was back to its very high standards: bistro fare done to a turn. The mussels came in a creamy sauce so rich we had to send the waiter back for more bread twice. Escargots were not doled out stingily in individual shells; a swarm of them swam in another rich dark sauce. All the entrees were delicious and had us playing chinese restaurant , swapping bites. The vibe on the back porch was totally relaxed, and despite one larger dog making threatening growls at the smaller pooches, no altercations ensued.
The atmosphere at this restaurant was cozy and welcoming, even though it was our first time there. It took a little while for the host to seat us when we arrived early for our reservation, but he was friendly and quickly found us a table for two. The meal started off with a warm fresh roll, followed by a delicious mesclun salad with balsamic dressing and creamed mussels on toast. For our main course, we had a New York steak with asparagus and grilled trout served on a bed of roasted potatoes. We finished off with a fruit crumble dessert and coffee. The service was efficient and not intrusive. Our total bill came to $141, which included 2 glasses of red wine at $14 each. The no-tip policy made the payment process simpler, as it ensures that the staff is fairly compensated.
Charming and straightforward brunch menu. Famous for their Benedicts—you can order a single, the classic double, or even three full Benedicts! Mixing and matching is highly recommended. They also have a fantastic selection of mimosas!
This restaurant is a fantastic option for brunch, but be prepared for a wait since they don't take reservations. The egg benedicts, especially the smoked salmon one, were outstanding. The side of potatoes and garlic was crispy and flavorful. A distinctive feature of this place is its no-tip policy, as gratuity is included in the prices. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!
