Still remember back in the collage days, we'd stop by and grab some food before heading towards the meandering hill drive and hwy 9 in the night. The two waiters there would always come in and join our chat when they were not busy. Food is ok. The memorywas more than 5 stars.
I found 7-8 human hairs mixed in with my meal. I had ordered chow mein, fried rice, orange chicken and sweet n sour pork. I found 7 long hairs in each dish. They don't wear hair nets I guess. If hair grosses you out, don't order from here. The foodwasn't disgusting, but the sweet n sour pork had a ton of cartilage and bone in it. Overall, disappointed because I was cravingthese dishes and decided to try out a new place. Just don't want any one else to make the same mistake as I did.
I forgot how salty this place is and they use MSG. Price is good, but the taste is not quite right today. The Peking rib is thin and the sauce is only ok. The Tofu fish pot was decent but on quite salty. The stirred fried broccoli was decent.
Have to admit cakes and desserts are very good, environment and decor is hill and it’s an experience to eat something here. We were in a bit of tourist mode so didn’t stay for long, it’s a cozy place to spend the afternoon to catch up with friends.
A typical Hong Kong style cafe. Look at it like a traditional American non-chain cafe with quick and efficient service. The food is better recently and the price is fair to inexpensive. It is perfect for solo to couples looking for quick Cantonese/Hong Kong type food. It has been around forever and we have been coming here on and off. Again, the food and service is much better than before; so, if you been there before but were disappointed, it is worth a trip again. Quick, efficient, and good enough for a quick bite if you crave for these type of food. Just a note that it is probably not for a big crowd and most of the patrons are Asians.
