When we walked in we were greeted in a very friendly manner and we're offered bar seating without the price fixed menu which was an awesome suggestion. I was very impressed. The burger was good and the pastrami sandwich was excellent as we're the fries. The issues? It took over ten minutes to even be acknowledged at the table no greeting, no water, no anything. I mentioned it to the server who did accept the comment graciously and proceeded to try and make things better though he had a habit of disappearing once in a while. At this price point, I actually expect better service. The kicker, however, was the addition of a 20% service fee without mentioning it when the check arrived that is unacceptable. Fortunately, my dining partner caught it before we finalized the bill. That is a very sleazy move I would expect in South Beach but not at a restaurant of Spruce's caliber in San Francisco. Turned me off completely.
